It was identified that data had been assigned to the incorrect SNOMED code in the Prescription Cost Analysis (PCA) Monthly Administrative data releases for March 2023 and April 2023. This is due to products being assigned the pack level SNOMED code in March instead of the product level SNOMED code.

This issue has now been fixed and the correct data for March and April is now available on this page

26 March 2024

Prescription Cost Analysis (PCA) Monthly Administrative Data will now include medicines supplied under the pharmacy's first pathways. These medicines aren't currently identifiable as pharmacy-first supplies in the February dataset. We are committed to ensuring that there will be a method to identify this in the future.

Pharmacy First Data in the PCA dataset

February data currently does not contain any pharmacy-first data but we will be replacing this file in due course once it is available.

An update will be given once this change has been made.

22 May 2024:

March Data Delay

Data for March 2024 will be published on Thursday 6 June alongside the annual official statistics. The annual publication is an accredited official statistic and fully complies with the Code of Practice for Statistics. Therefore the release of March 2024 data is embargoed until the annual official statistics are published.

February 2024 data updated

Following the recent changes to the PCA data, to include information relating to pharmacy first, the February 2024 file has now been updated. Please note, this could potentially affect an API that has been set up previously depending on the method used.
