Deployment update: improvements and fixes now live on the NHSBSA Open Data Portal

The latest deployment to the NHSBSA Open Data Portal has been completed, bringing improvements and fixes to enhance your experience when browsing datasets.

Clearer dataset titles and resources

Dataset titles are no longer cut off after 80 characters. This means longer, more descriptive titles are now shown in full.

Text in the resource box (where files linked to a dataset are listed) is no longer truncated. The new layout gives more space so the information can be viewed in full.

Data dictionary display update

The data dictionary, which explains the contents of each dataset, has been updated so that very long words and strings no longer overflow outside the table.
This is an interim fix to contain the text; a future update will further improve readability.

Improved tables

Tables across the portal (including news and feedback logs) now display correctly without spilling off the page.

Fewer display errors in Data Explorer view

Behind-the-scenes improvements to the file upload process mean that datasets now display more reliably in the Data Explorer. This reduces display errors and ensures datasets can be viewed as intended.

Other updates

Alongside the changes described above, this deployment also included a number of additional behind-the-scenes improvements for system administrators and dataset publishers. These technical updates are not detailed here but help ensure the portal runs smoothly and remains reliable.
