The Pharmacy Quality Scheme (PQS) forms part of the Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework (CPCF).
PQS is designed to support delivery of the NHS Long Term Plan and reward community pharmacies that deliver quality criteria in three quality dimensions:
• clinical effectiveness
• patient safety
• patient experience
The PQS 22/23 was comprised of five quality domains:
• Risk Management and Safeguarding
• Respiratory
• Healthy Living Support
• Prevention
• Addressing Unwarranted Variation in Care
Hosted on the Open Data Portal are datasets relating to the five quality domains and one other dataset for the Patient Safety Report gateway criterion.
Each of the pharmacies listed in each dataset were eligible to receive a PQS payment on 1 April 2023 by declaring that they met the requirements of the gateway criteria, and the requirements of at least one quality domain. The datasets provide each pharmacy’s answers to the declaration questions as they were entered into MYS.
Please note, not all questions asked as part of the PQS 22/23 declaration are present in the datasets. The data dictionary for each file details the questions but you can also view all questions for each quality domain in the PQS Questions 2022-23 (XLSX: 24.2 KB) document.
