‘Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I am seeking detailed information regarding NHS dental contract providers in England and Wales for the contract year 2022-2023.

My request includes:

List of NHS Dental Contract Providers (such as dental practices): A comprehensive list of all NHS dental contract providers across the UK that did not meet their UDA targets during the 2022-2023 contract year.

UDA Targets and Performance:

The UDA target set for each provider.

The UDA value assigned to each provider.

The actual number of UDAs completed by each provider.

The number of UDAs not completed by each provider.

Financial Implications:

The 'clawback' value for each provider.

The scheduled date(s) for clawback collection.

Previous Year Comparison: The UDA value and target for each contract holder for the previous contract year (2021-2022).

Dental Practice Management Software: The name of the Dental Practice Management Software used by each provider to submit claims.

Organisation Data Service (ODS) Codes: The ODS code associated with each provider, where available.

Contact Information: The address and postcode for each dental practice associated with the individual provider, in separate columns.

Please provide the information in an electronic format, such as a spreadsheet, for ease of analysis.’

Contract Number - This is a unique 10 character number which identifies a contract. We have limited this to contracts reconciled by the NHSBSA that delivered under 96% of their annual contracted UDA target in 23/24.

Latest Provider Number - The latest provider number associated to the contract.

Latest Provider Name - The latest name of the provider.

Latest Principal Practice Address Line 1 - The latest Principal Practice Address Line 1 associated with the Contract.

Latest Principal Practice Address Line 2 - The latest Principal Practice Address Line 2 associated with the Contract.

Latest Principal Practice Address Line 3 - The latest Principal Practice Address Line 3 associated with the Contract.

Latest Principal Practice Address Line 4 - The latest Principal Practice Address Line 4 associated with the Contract.

Apr-24 to Sept-25 - Month(s) 23/24 UDA Financial Recovery has/will be taken, this includes any UPS_2324 or UPS_2324_O adjustments entered on Compass by Commissioners, some of these may not be related to Year-End recovery. Instalments take into account any transfer of recovery between contracts, e.g. a contract may be due financial recovery, but it is recovered from another contract or vise versa. Instalments detailed up to Sept-25, but some contracts extend beyond this.

PPC Location V Code - A code comprised of the treatment location ID and formatted to six digits prefixed with a 'V'. This is also known as the ODS code. If the field is blank, it is because no UDA/UOA activity occurred during the time period hence a Location ID wasn't applied to the contract.

Software:

Please note some provider IDs may have more than one software associated. This is due to some providers have multiple contracts with different software suppliers.

Wales Data Only

Data refers to contracts based in Wales.

Data refers to 2023/2024 financial years. For 23/24 UDA Delivered data, this refers to UDA scheduled in relation to FP17Ws with a date of completion between April 1st and March 31st, where the FP17W was scheduled between April and the following June.

A variation indicator is included to indicate whether or not contracts are part of the Welsh Variation Programme. Contracts on the Variation Programme have separate targets not based on UDA. The indicator is based on whether the contract has a target for any of historic, new, or new urgent patients.

Provider Name and Address details are based on the most recent instances as per Compass.

Performance Adjustments refer to adjustments made for underperformance (including overpayment) in 23/24.

Performance Adjustments data refers to figures (i.e. payments taken) to date, i.e. the January 2025 schedule month. Underperformance adjustments for the years can continue to be made later.
