This report contains the details from General FP17s processed for the reporting years 2016/2017, 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2019/2020, 2020/2021, 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 in England & Wales. Excludes Foundation Dentists. The information within the report includes the data items and descriptions listed below.
Data is based on year-end methodology. Year-end methodology will include all activity data (including amendments) collected from FP17s scheduled in any of the fifteen schedule months from April to June, where the date of completion is on or between 1 April and 31 March of the year. For example, 2018-19 will include all activity data (including amendments) collected from FP17s scheduled in any of the fifteen schedule months from April 2018 to June 2019, where the date of completion is on or between 1 April 2018 and 31 March 2019. Where FP17s do not have a date of completion, e.g. where the patient has failed to return to complete the treatment, the date of acceptance is used.
Reporting Year: The financial year which the activity/contracted services relate to.
Country Name: This is the Country name where the contract is located.
Local Authority: This is the Local Authority where the contract is located.
Total FP17s: This is a count of the number of FP17s scheduled including adjustments for amended and deleted FP17s. Withdrawn FP17s are not included in the total count of FP17s. This figure may be zero or negative if deleted FP17s have been processed.
FP17s with Domiciliary Services: This is a count of the number of forms submitted which included domiciliary services. This is based on the Treatment Category as recorded in part 6 of the FP17. Domiciliary dental care is dental treatment that is provided in the patient’s home. Patients who have severe mobility problems that make it very difficult for them to leave their home for treatment would benefit from domiciliary dental care where a dentist visits their home and provides dental treatment.
Domiciliary Services rate per 100 FP17s: FP17s with Domiciliary Services / Total FP17s*100 .
Performance Target: The target associated with the service line for the financial year e.g. Unit of Dental Activity (UDAs), Unit of Orthodontic Activity (UOAs), Course of Treatment (CoTs) etc., as entered on CoMPASS.
Service Line Name: The service name/description as maintained by CoMPASS.
