Thank you for your request for information about the following:

‘Please could you let me know now that we are able to receive the Healthy Start local data, would it be possible to ask for the number of applicants that register during pregnancy in Nottingham City?’

We started a project last April 2022 which was providing vitamins to all pregnant women and promoting the HS scheme. Would we be able to request the data from April 2022?

The Healthy Start data for eligibility and claiming is now provided again monthly, rather than asking for the data regarding those signing up in pregnancy as a one off, could this information be included?

Your request was received on 23 February 2023 and I am dealing with it under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Response

April 2022-present

A copy of the information is attached.

Including data in monthly figures

The NHSBSA publishes scheme uptake data on a monthly basis on the NHS Healthy Start website. There are currently no plans to publish data relating to those who apply during pregnancy. The figure representing people who applied for NHS Healthy Start whilst pregnant is not the same as the NHS Healthy Start uptake figure, which relates to the number of beneficiaries on the scheme at a given time. So, for example, a beneficiary may no longer be pregnant but may have applied whilst pregnant. Other NHS Healthy Start information held by NHSBSA may still be requested by Freedom of Information request.

The NHS Healthy Start uptake data can be found at: https://www.healthystart.nhs.uk/healthcare-professionals/
