Can you please give me a list and address of Pharmacys who have given notice to close or have closed between 1st November 2022 and 6th February 2023.

NHS Prescription Services process prescriptions for Pharmacy Contractors, Appliance Contractors, Dispensing Doctors and Personal Administration with information then used to make payments to pharmacists and appliance contractors in England for prescriptions dispensed in primary care settings (other arrangements are in place for making payments to Dispensing Doctors and Personal Administration). This involves processing over 1 billion prescription items and payments totalling over £9 billion each year. The information gathered from this process is then used to provide information on costs and trends in prescribing in England and Wales to over 25,000 registered NHS and Department of Health and Social Care users.

Data Source

The data source was the NHSBSA Information Services Data Warehouse.

Exclusions

The Data excludes:

• Pharmacy openings or closures that have not been notified to NHS England and processed by the NHS Business Services Authority

Time Period

Data as held in the NHSBSA data warehouse as ran on 23 March 2023. We do no hold when the data was added to the data warehouse. All data shown is for pharmacies with an opening or closure date of 01 November 2022 or later, including future dates. The NHSBSA does not hold any future dated openings as of 23 March 2023.

Open_or_close

This is a flag to indicate whether the data is included due to the pharmacy opening in the time period specified or due to the pharmacy closing during the time period speficied.

Opening_date

This is the date the pharmacy has been added to the Pharmaceutical List held by NHS England to provide NHS services from this date. This may be a new pharmacy or taking over of a pharmacy by new ownership.

Closure_date

This is the date pharmacies have been removed from the Pharmacetical List held by NHS England and have ceased providing NHS services on this date. This does not necessarily mean a loss of a pharmacy to the high street - pharmacies which have changed ownership may appear as a closure with a new pharmacy opening in the same premises on a future date. If a pharmacy has been sold including assets and liabilities this will not appear as a closure as the contract for providing services is uninterrupted.
