Thank you for your request for information about the following:
I would like to make a Freedom of information request regarding the issuing of Fixed Penalty Notices (FPN).
Please could you let me know how many FPNs have been issued to residents of the constituency of Walthamstow (or Waltham Forest if this information is not available), as a result of them not having a valid maternity exemption certificate.
I would like the information to include one year pre-pandemic. Therefore please provide information from 2018/2019 until present.
Your request was clarified with:
The postcodes do not fully correlate with the constituency boundary but if that is what has to be defined, please provide the information for all E17 postcodes.
Your request mentioned fixed penalty notices. The NHSBSA issues Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) which are legally different. You have stated that you are happy for us to provide data on PCNs instead.
Your clarified request was received on 13 March 2023 and I am dealing with it under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Response
Since 2018/2019, 484 Penalty Charge Notices have been issued to postcodes starting with E17, where the patient ticked maternity exemption
