Request
My FOI request (27626) needs amending.
I think it is simpler if I describe here my FOI data request in full.
I’d like to be sent all jobs posted on nhsjobs.co.uk since the start of the website.
I’d like the variables to include the following, which were already included in the previous version of the data:
Job type (bank, permanent, fixed term)
Job title
Org ID
Organisation
Salary
Pay Scheme
Pay Band
Published date
Beyond this, I’d like the data to also include the following variables:
Job reference
City
Department (A&E, Angiography, District Nursing, etc – shown under the job title)
Closing Date
Job description (the text of the job description)
Total number of applications made for that job’
Response
Job Description and Number of Applications
I am writing to advise you that the information you requested is not held by the NHS Business Services Authority. Rather, it is held on behalf of trusts who advertise via NHS Jobs, meaning they are the holders of the information. This is called out in the Terms and Conditions (Ts&Cs) which are in place between NHSBSA and the trusts. See the below excerpt from those Ts&Cs.
NHS BSA is the Public Authority responsible for answering FOI Requests about vacancy information, unless the commercial agreement states otherwise.
You [the trust] are responsible for all requests related to your recruitment process, application progression and outcomes for your organisation. Where this information is held on NHS Jobs, it is held by NHSBSA, on your behalf, for the purposes of freedom of information legislation.
The application form completed by a candidate is held on NHS Jobs for 13 months. That information is held on behalf of the recruiting organisation. For the purposes of FOI the public authority responsible for that information and answering your request is the recruiting organisation.
The recruiting organisation may then have downloaded the applications from NHS Jobs into their own recruitment systems. NHS Jobs would not hold any information on which applications had been shortlisted, interview notes, comments etc.
Please see below the relevant sections of the Terms and Conditions we have with recruiting organisations.
You will need to make a FOI request to each of the recruiting organisations you have applied for.
