Request
To the attention of the NHS Business Services Authority I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from the NHS Business Services Authority. • Please share a breakdown by month of the number of pharmacies registered to offer the Community Pharmacist Consultation Service (CPCS) since the service launched on 29 October 2019. • How many pharmacies decided to deregister from the CPCS between 30 October 2019 and 31 May 2022? Did they share reasons detailing why they decided to deregister? • How many pharmacies decided to deregister from the CPCS from 1 April 2022? In this presentation, NHS England and NHS Improvement indicated they had to apply to deregister by 28 February 2022: https://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/sites/default/files/2021-09/Pharmacy%20contractor%20guide%20to%20CPCS%20IT%20provider%20switching%20v1.3.pdf • How many contractors stated that they had decided to deregister from the CPCS service due to the switch to a “provider pays” model from 1 April 2022? • How many CPCS claims did contractors make until 31 May 2022? • How much money – covering reimbursement, remuneration and charges but excluding the payments for signing up to the service – was paid to contractors in total, for the CPCS claims they submitted between 1 December 2019 and 31 May 2022? Please provide the information in the form of an email. Please provide any data in the form of a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. If it is not possible to provide the information requested due to the information exceeding the cost of compliance limits identified in Section 12, please provide advice and assistance, under the Section 16 obligations of the Act, as to how I can refine my request. If you can identify any ways that my request could be refined, I would be grateful for any further advice and assistance. If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email or phone and I will be very happy to clarify what I am asking for and discuss the request, my details are outlined below. Thank you for your time and I look forward to your response.

Data Source - A snapshot of data taken from the Management Data Transfer (MDT) function within the Manage Your Service (MYS) portal. The snapshot is based on the data available in MYS at 08:44am on 21 June 2022.
Time Period - For registrations, the time period used is 29 October 2019 up to 21 June 2022.
For de-registrations, two numbers are provided. One is limited to 30 October 2019 up to and including 31 May 2022. The other is from 1 April 2022 up to 21 June 2022.
Question 4
I am writing to advise you that following a search of our paper and electronic records, I have established that the information you requested is not held by the NHS Business Services Authority. This is because we do not hold data on the reasons for a pharmacy de-registering from the service and therefore have only provided figures showing registrations and de-registrations.
