Under the freedom of information act, I am seeking data on NHS dentistry Please provide data on the number of NHS dentists providing NHS dentistry as of 1 May 2022 for

i) England

ii) each NHS region of England

iii) Wales

iv) each health board of Wales.

Please provide the same figures for each geography for the same date for each calendar year 2019,2020 and 2021.

This report contains the details from FP17s processed for the period stated 2019/2020, 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 (202104-202204) in England & Wales Regions/STPs/HBs. All contracts paid by NHSBSA. The information within the report includes the data items and descriptions listed below. Only Performers who were active delivering UDA/UOA during the period.

Region Description: This is the name associated with the Region.

Commissioner Code: This is the 3 character code associated with the Commissioning Organisation. This a generic term used to denote health bodies, either Area Teams in England or Health Boards in Wales. Also known as Primary Care Organisations (PCOs)

Commissioner Name: This is the name associated with the Commissioning Organisation. This is a generic term used to denote health bodies, either Area Teams in England or Health Boards in Wales. Also known as Primary Care Organisations (PCOs))

Reporting Year: The financial year which the activity/contracted services relate to.

Total Form Count: This is a count of the number of FP17s and FP17Os scheduled including adjustments for amended and deleted FP17s. Withdrawn FP17s are not included in the total count of FP17s. This figure may be zero or negative if deleted FP17s have been processed.

Number of Performers: The number of Dentists as recorded on CoMPASS.

Total FP17s: This is a count of the number of FP17s and FP17Os scheduled including adjustments for amended and deleted FP17s. Withdrawn FP17s are not included in the total count of FP17s. This figure may be zero or negative if deleted FP17s have been processed.
