1. How many childcare allowance applications did the NHSBSA receive from students?

2. How many of these applications were awarded the maximum level of support (i.e. up to 85% of actual registered childcare costs to a net maximum payable of £128.78 per week for one child and £191.45 per week for two or more children)?

3. How many of these applications were awarded partial support (i.e. at least £1 but not the maximum level of support as detailed above)?

4. How many of these applications were not entitled to any support for childcare costs?

Please Note: The number of childcare applications received is greater than the number of recipients as one student may submit multiple applications in an individual academic year where there are changes to their circumstances, for example, they use a different or additional childcare provider part way through their academic year, or there are amendments to their childcare costs.

Please Note: A student who has received the maximum amount of payment is defined as one who receives the maximum level of funding available (i.e. up to 85% of actual registered childcare costs to a net maximum payable of £128.78 per week for one child and £191.45 per week for two or more children) across the 52 weeks of the relevant academic year. However, some final year students may only claim a portion of these weeks depending upon where the end date of their course falls. For example, if a student only claims 50 weeks in their final year, they are classed as not being in receipt of the maximum childcare allowance available.
