FLU_SEASON_START_MONTH Reporting period start string The earliest month of administration of vaccinations that is included in the season totals. This is taken to be September for consistency, but note that in some years seasonal vaccination activity begins later. This refers to the month when doses were dispensed to the patient. LATEST_PROCESSED_MONTH Latest processed month string The latest month for which fee claims have been received, processed and scheduled for payment. This refers to the month when doses were dispensed to the patient. Example: 202404
DISPENSED_DATE Dispensed Date string The date that the flu vaccine is recorded as being dispensed in the format 'YYYY-MM-DD'.
DISPENSER_CODE Claimant organisation data service (ODS) code string The NHS Organisation Data Service (ODS) code of the organisation that was responsible for claiming fees and reimbursement for administering the vaccinations. In this dataset the dispensers are English community pharmacies. Example: FXK55
DISPENSER_NAME Claimant organisation string The name of the organisation that was responsible for claiming fees and reimbursement for administering the vaccinations.
DISPENSER_TRADING_NAME Claimant organisation trading name string The public facing name of the organisation that was responsible for claiming fees and reimbursement for administering the vaccinations.
MANUFACTURER Vaccine supplier name string The text name of the manufacturer / supplier of the vaccine product (pack) that was supplied and claimed for. Text may not correspond exactly to the NHS Dictionary of Medicines and Devices (dm+d).
VACCINE_NAME Vaccine pack name string The text name of the vaccine product (pack) from which the dose was supplied and claimed for. Text may not correspond exactly to the NHS Dictionary of Medicines and Devices (dm+d). Actual Medicinal Product Pack (AMPP) descriptions also include the pack size which may be greater than the number of doses supplied to a patient. For example a 10 unit dose pack could be used to supply one dose to each of 10 patients.
AMPP_SNOMED_CODE Vaccine pack SNOMED code number The SNOMED CT code corresponding to the Actual Medicinal Product Pack (AMPP) from which the dose was supplied to the patient. Note as this is often a long sequence of digits so care must be taken to avoid curtailing the numbers in some computer programmes - such as MS Excel. Importing SNOMED codes as text or string or character data can reduce the risk of data loss. Note this column is not populated for data before the 2023-2024 flu season.
BNF_PRESENTATION_CODE Vaccine pharmaceutical presentation BNF code string The British National Formulary (BNF) code corresponding to the Actual Medicinal Product (AMP) that was supplied to the patient. Note for some products (appliances) this can be a long sequence of digits so care must be taken to avoid curtailing the numbers in some computer programmes - such as MS Excel. Importing BNF codes as 'text' or 'string' or 'character' data can reduce the risk of data loss.
NUMBER_OF_DOSES Number of doses integer The total number of doses recorded as being dispensed on that date.
