Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to request the following information.

For the most recent financial year available, and for the equivalent year in 2019/20, please provide:

1. The total number of nurses employed by the NHS in England (headcount or full-time equivalent – please specify which is used).

2. The number of those nurses with an annual gross salary above the higher-rate income tax threshold (£50,270) applicable in that year.

3. The number of those nurses with an annual gross salary above the additional-rate threshold (£125,140), if available.
