Thank you for your request for information about the following:

Request

‘The operational policy applied when a PPC auto-renewal is prevented by an address change’

The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) received your request on 8 September 2025.

We have handled your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).

Our response

I am writing to advise you that following a search of our paper and electronic records, I have established that the information you requested is not held by the NHSBSA.

Advice and assistance

There is no policy that restricts a Pre Payment Certificate (PPC) renewal based on address changes. If a customer pays by Direct Debit, we will normally automatically renew the PPC when it expires.

PPC’s will not automatically renew if:

you are 60 or will turn 60 within 9 months of the PPC expiry date

the Direct Debit was set up by phone and paid by a third party

your PPC is not fully paid for

the Direct Debit has been cancelled
