I am writing to ask you to clarify your request. This is because we are not certain that we have understood your request correctly.

Therefore I would be grateful if you would clarify the following:

• By ‘sorted’ are you requesting information on retirees who have been in receipt of the Remediable Service Statement (RSS) to make a choice and the correct benefits have been put into payment?

You responded on 10 October 2025

Yes please

We have handled your request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA).

Our response

There are 401,501 pensioners who are due to receive an RSS. Not all of these will be subject to a change of benefits; some may decide to remain with their current scheme benefits.
