Request

I should like to request the total number of retired NHS staff who are eligible for the McCloud Remedy and who are awaiting resolution of their pension position in this regard as at January 2025. I should also like to request the total number of retired NHS staff who were eligible for the McCloud Remedy and who have achieved resolution of their pension position in this regard as at January 2025. I should like to request that both of these totals are broken down by NHS pay group.

Response

I can confirm that the NHSBSA holds the information you have requested.

Question: I should like to request the total number of retired NHS staff who are eligible for the McCloud Remedy and who are awaiting resolution of their pension position in this regard as at January 2025.

There are 388,863 retired members currently awaiting a Remedial Service Statement (RSS), which will subsequently lead to ‘resolution’ of their pension position (if they choose to alter their current benefits).

Question: I should also like to request the total number of retired NHS staff who were eligible for the McCloud Remedy and who have achieved resolution of their pension position in this regard as at January 2025. I should like to request that both of these totals are broken down by NHS pay group.

There are 21 retired members who have been issued their RSS through the fast-track process; 17 of whom have returned their decisions which have been actioned.
