Request
How many members have retired who had a sessional contract in place before 2004 where standard sessions are 11, but actual sessions are 10. This would reflect a 10/11 contract. Please include those who transferred onto the 2003 contract in subsequent years.
Please use the period of 01/04/2022 to 31/03/2023 and also 01/04/2023 to 31/03/2024.
Of those members, how many had a full-time service awarded whilst on a 10/11 contract?
Of those members, how many had part-time service awarded whilst on a 10/11 contract?
Of those members where a contract of 10/11ths is present, how many have different service on their record to what was authorised at retirement.
Response
The NHSBSA does hold the requested information; however, we estimate that the cost of compliance with the request would exceed the appropriate limit under section 12 of the FOIA.
We estimate that the cost of complying with your request would exceed the non-central Government limit of £450. The limit has been specified in The Freedom of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations 2004 - https://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2004/3244/contents/made and represents the estimated cost of one person spending 18 hours in determining whether the NHSBSA holds the information, and locating, retrieving, extracting and checking the information.
Please see the following calculations which sets out the estimated cost for compliance with this request:
568 member records would need to be manually interrogated at 10-15 minutes per case, this would involve reviewing the historical documents, employment histories and award information held on the file to ascertain if it meets the criteria, this would total Approximately 5680 – 8520 minutes.
