About the scheme
The Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme (VDPS) is not a compensation scheme. Therefore, zero claimants have been paid any compensation.
The VDPS provides a one-off tax-free payment, which is currently £120,000, to successful applicants where, on very rare occasions, a vaccine has caused severe disablement. A list of eligible vaccines is available at:
http://www.gov.uk/vaccine-damage-payment/eligibility
1,136 claimants have received a Vaccine Damage Payment.
