How many Penalty Charge Notices have been issued to people who claimed free NHS dental treatment between April 2019 and April 2024? Of this number, please provide:

1. A breakdown of total Penalty Charge Notices between April 6th and April 5th in each financial year (2019/20, 2020/21, 2021/22, 2022/23 and 2023/24).
2. The volume of cases that resulted in a fine being issued, and the total value of all fines, in each financial year.
3. The volume of cases that were not pursued in each financial year.
4. The volume of cases where the fine was challenged and overturned in each financial year.

In respect of question 3, I would like to know how many cases do not result in a fine and are closed.

• This data has been aggregated by each Financial Year. • Question 3 shows cases that received an enquiry letter but did not receive a Penalty Charge/Surcharge • Question 4 shows all cases closed for Exemption Confirmed or Cancelled status reasons. This includes cases closed at enquiry letter. Adding Question 3 and Question 4 together would cause duplication.
