Request
Thank you for providing a response to my FOI request. (FOI-02096)
Can you please confirm your definition of “officer” and provide a breakdown of which types of members are being included in the “officer” category?
Can you please also confirm why this group haven’t had pension increases?
Response
I can confirm that the NHSBSA holds the information you have requested.
An officer is any scheme member who does not have practitioner employment.
There is no distinction between employment types in the application of a pensions increase (PI).
The only reasons PI might not have been applied is if:
• there was an issue with the member record, so it fell out for PI validation work
• the lifetime allowance (LTA) for the member was over 83.33%
