Can you kindly confirm how many live "Practitioner Members" there are @ 30th June 2024 and how many Practitioner Membership Records are not presently updated to 31st March 2023 please?

I can confirm that the NHSBSA holds the information you have requested and a copy of the information it is attached.

As of 30 June 2024, there were 57,196 live practitioner members with 90,126 open practitioner employments. Please see the table attached. However, please note, that some members have more than one open practitioner employment.

54,745 practitioner membership records are not presently updated to 31 March 2023 in respect of 83,442 open practitioner employments. There are several reasons why records may not have been updated. This could be because practitioner members have not yet submitted their certificates, there are queries on the certificates, or certificates are missing from earlier years which is preventing an update to later years.

Please read the below notes to ensure correct understanding of the data.

Caveats

Members may have multiple ongoing posts, updated to different points. Some posts may be officer posts; these have not been included in the figures.

Annual contribution data is only available when an annual update has been processed onto the member record for the respective employment.

A post not being fully updated does not mean the information has not been submitted by the employer; it may have been submitted but, due to validation issues, it has not been possible to process onto the member record.
