Question 4
The number of officer members employed by a GP practice whose pension record shows an error of "Employer Owned" is 441. We cannot update the pension record for these members.
Question 5
A copy of the information is attached. The table shows a breakdown of all “Employer Owned” errors for GP Practices. This includes active and non-active members and a member’s pension record could have multiple “Employer Owned” errors. The year the error relates to cannot be identified.
Please read the below notes to ensure correct understanding of the data.
Notes
The data is correct as of 4 July 2024, which was the day it was gathered. It is not possible to provide data correct as of 31 May 2024.
Some members may have started their employment after 1 April 2024, and therefore not be due an annual update. These members are out of scope for questions 3 and 4.
Employer Type – such as GP Practice – is only recorded while an employer is active. If an employer closes, ‘Employer Type’ is updated to ‘OLD.’ This means that any GP Practices that have closed cannot be identified. For this FOI, this only impacts GP Practices that closed since 31 May 2024.
Practitioners are defined as any member with practitioner service. If a member has concurrent officer service they are recorded as a practitioner because practitioner service takes priority. In the unlikely event a practitioner has active officer service with a GP Practice, they have been excluded from the results.
Volumes are based on unique count of members; some may have multiple posts with the same Employing Authority (EA) or a different EA, which may or not be a GP Practice.
Annual update information is submitted as a form, which goes through a validation process, and is either successfully applied to the member record, or fails to pass validation and needs to be reviewed. The content of the form is not reportable until it has been added to the member record, so while we can identify that an “Employer Owned” error exists (included in the data), we do not know if that is because of a missing update.
