Data for Welsh Contracts:

This report contains the details from FP17Ws processed for the period stated 2023/2024 (202304-202406) in Wales. The information within the report includes the data items and descriptions listed below.

• LHB Code: This is the 3 character code associated with the Commissioning Organisation. This a generic term used to denote health bodies, either Area Teams in England or Health Boards in Wales. Also known as Primary Care Organisations (PCOs)

• LHB Name: This is the name associated with the Commissioning Organisation. This is a generic term used to denote health bodies, either Area Teams in England or Health Boards in Wales. Also known as Primary Care Organisations (PCOs)

• Contract Number: This is a unique 10 character number which identifies a contract.

• Provider Name: The name of the provider

• Financial Year: The financial year associated with the 'Year Month' dimension in the format 'YYYY/YYYY' e.g. 2023/2024 for 202304.

• Principal Practice Address - Lines 1-5 and Postcode: This is address line 3 of the main address used for correspondence between the NHSBSA and the dental contract, it is not necessarily the address where treatment takes place. The Principal Practice and Correspondence address is calculated based upon a number of rules applied in sequence: 1. If there is only one treatment location recorded in CoMPASS, then this will be assigned as the PP&C address. 2. If at the 30th of the month there is only one live treatment location, then this will be assigned as the PP&C address. 3. If there are multiple open treatment locations for the contract, the treatment location with the earliest submission of FP17W/O activity will be used. 4. If there are no open treatment locations at the 30th of the month, the historic principal practice address from POL will be used. 5. If there are no open treatment locations at the 30th of the month, the address with the most FP17W/O activity will be used. 6. If there are no open treatment locations but one existed and had associated FP17W/O activity when the contract was live, then this address will be used. 7. Contracts that have an end date before 01/04/2013 are assigned a address. 8. For a new contract where no treatment location addresses have been entered onto CoMPASS, they are assigned a blank address. 9. If there are no FP17W/O records after April 2013, the location with the most FP17W/Os with no time restrictions is used. 10. Contracts that have no FP17W records are assigned a blank address.

• UDA Performance Target: The contracted units of dental activity to be achieved for the year, as entered on CoMPASS by the LHB.

• UOA Performance Target: The contracted units of orthodontic activity to be achieved for the year, as entered on CoMPASS by the LHB.

• UDA Financial Value: The financial value associated with the UDA performance target for the financial year, as entered on CoMPASS by the LHB.

• UOA Financial Value: The financial value associated with the UOA performance target for the financial year, as entered on CoMPASS by the LHB.

• UOA Delivered: The units of orthodontic activity scheduled for the time period selected, relating to the financial year, excluding FD UDA for English contracts and including UDA for Welsh contracts.

• UDA Delivered: The units of dental activity scheduled for the financial year to date for the period selected, relating to the financial year e.g. in December this will cover the scheduled months of April to December, excluding FD UDA for English contracts and and including UDA for Welsh contracts.

• UDA Carry Forward: The number of UDAs carried forward from the previous year, as entered on CoMPASS by the LHB.

• UOA Carry Forward: The number of UOAs carried forward from the previous year, as entered on CoMPASS by the LHB.

• % Delivered UDA: UDA Delivered-UDA Carry Forward/UDA Performance Target

• % Delivered UOA: UOA Delivered-UOA Carry Forward/UOA Performance Target

• Balance of UDA: UDA Delivered-UDA Carry Forward-UDA Performance Target

• Balance of UOA: UOA Delivered-UOA Carry Forward-UOA Performance Target

• 'Patient metric' targets for historic, new, and new urgent patients are included, and when applicable, are indicative of a contract's status on the Welsh variation program. Patient metric targets were introduced in Wales in 2022/2023 as an alternative to UDA targets for contracts on ‘variation’ contracts rather than UDA contracts. Historic Patient and New Patient targets were introduced in 2022/2023. New Urgent Patient targets were introduced in 2023/2024. These targets are calculated at the discretion of Local Health Boards.

• Historic Patient Target: The target number of historic patients to be achieved for the year, as entered on Compass by the LHB.

• New Patient Target: The target number of new patients to be achieved for the year, as entered on Compass by the LHB.
