FOI-01774

Thank you for your request for information about the following:

Dear NHS BSA Team, I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to you on behalf of the Community Pharmacy South West London (CPSWL), following the recent merger of three Local Pharmaceutical Committees (LPCs) in our region.

These include: 1. Merton Sutton Wandsworth LPC (Code: YL 02056) 2. Croydon LPC (Code: YL 02039) 3. Kingston and Richmond LPC (Code: YL 02204) In line with this recent development, we are in the process of consolidating our records and ensuring smooth continuity in our operations and collaborations. To this end, it is essential for us to obtain an updated list of all contractors associated with the aforementioned LPCs, now unified under the CPSWL banner. Specifically, we request a comprehensive list of contractors that includes the following details: 1. The name and address of each contractor. 2. The unique Organisation Data Service (ODS) and/or F codes assigned to each contractor. This information is crucial for us to accurately determine the number of contracts within CPSWL's jurisdiction and to facilitate effective communication and service delivery across our network. We understand the importance of maintaining up-to-date and accurate records, and this information will significantly aid us in achieving our objectives and serving our community more effectively. We appreciate your assistance in this matter and look forward to your prompt response. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any additional information or clarification regarding this request. Thank you for your attention and cooperation.

Your request was received on 27 February 2024 and I am dealing with it under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

We requested clarification on 26 March 2024 with the following:

We do hold data on pharmacy names and address per LPC via a UMS report we run (last available was ran 4th March 2024).

However, as the merge has not happened in our data we cannot tell which pharmacies will be moving into the newly merged LPC.

Would you still like this data?

You replied with the following on 27 March 2024:

Thank you for your update. To clarify SW London LPC is a merger of the following LPCs

  1. Merton Sutton Wandsworth LPC (Code: YL 02056)

  2. Croydon LPC (Code: YL 02039)

  3. Kingston and Richmond LPC (Code: YL 02204)

Can you provide the requested data against the 3 former LPCS. Please note the London Health and well being boards are in the title of the 3 former LPCs.

Response

A copy of the information is attached. Please read the below notes to gain a full understanding of the data.

NHSBSA

NHS Prescription Services process prescriptions for Pharmacy Contractors, Appliance Contractors, Dispensing Doctors, and Personal Administration with information then used to make payments to pharmacists and appliance contractors in England for prescriptions dispensed in primary care settings (other arrangements are in place for making payments to Dispensing Doctors and Personal Administration). This involves processing over 1 billion prescription items and payments totalling over £9 billion each year. The information gathered from this process is then used to provide information on costs and trends in prescribing in England and Wales to over 25,000 registered NHS and Department of Health and Social Care users.
