I am writing to request NHS dentistry data under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Please provide per Local Authority in FY2022-23:

• The total number of dentists with NHS activity.

• The total number of contracted UDAs.

• The total number of delivered UDAs.

I would be interested in any information held by your organisation regarding my request.

If my request is denied in whole or in part, I ask that you justify all deletions by reference to specific exemptions of the Act. I will also expect you to release all non-exempt material. I reserve the right to appeal your decision to withhold any information or to charge excessive fees.

One piece of information which I would like to add to the request is for the dental data is to only include GDS contracts.

This report contains the details from FP17s processed for the period stated 2022/2023 in England & Wales Local Authorities. The information within the report includes the data items and descriptions listed below.

Financial Year: The financial year associated with the 'Year Month' dimension in the format 'YYYY/YYYY' e.g. 2018/2019 for 201804.

Local Authority Name: This is the Local Authority the contract is located in.

UDA Performance Target: The contracted units of dental activity to be achieved for the year, as entered on CoMPASS by the PCO.

UDA Delivered: The units of dental activity scheduled for the financial year to date for the period selected, relating to the financial year e.g. in December this will cover the scheduled months of April to December, excluding Foundation Dentist UDA for English contracts and including UDA for Welsh contracts.

Number of Performers: The number of Dentists as recorded on CoMPASS submitting FP17/Os.

Note: The number of Dentists can be affected by working across Local Authority borders and more than one dental practice. Also, a performer will be counted in every Local Authority in which they have submitted activity in the period.
