Question 1

Unfortunately, NHS Jobs is unable to provide information regarding the total number of funded establishments or the number of staff in post for any organisation.

However, this information is already available in the public domain through NHS England’s (formerly NHS Digital) published statistics. It can be located here: NHS Workforce Statistics – NHS Digital

Questions 2, 3 and 6

A copy of the information is attached.

The data shows a list of all adverts published on NHS Jobs between 01/04/2021 and 31/03/2022 for the specified trusts, filtered within the staff group of Nursing & Midwifery. Also attached is 22/23 for your information.

The post code field confirms the location of the vacancy.

The information provided is limited to what the recruiting organisation supplies us with. For more detail on each position you may wish to write to each trust directly. A directory of trusts and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) (including the ones provided in the data) can be found at the below web link:

http://www.nhs.uk/servicedirectories/pages/acutetrustlisting.aspx

Question 4

The reporting functionality within NHS Jobs includes time-to-hire calculations based on both a 7-day and a 5-day workweek. How the employers use and share this data is not dictated by the service. It's important to note that many of the organizations listed utilize third-party application tracking systems such as Trac, and therefore, they do not complete their recruitment processes through NHS Jobs or use the service to obtain their time-to-hire data.

Question 5

I am writing to advise you that following a search of our paper and electronic records, I have established that the information you requested is not held by the NHS Business Services Authority. Please be aware that NHS Jobs does not possess information regarding the duration of unfilled vacancies. This information exceeds the period during which the vacancy is visible on our service. As mentioned in point 4, many of the listed services use third-party application tracking systems. Consequently, NHS Jobs lacks any information beyond the advert close date, which limits our ability to determine the length of a vacancy or the recruitment process.
