Can you please supply the following information:
How many people were infected in the 1960s and no of survivors at todays date.
How many people were infected in the 1970s and no of survivors at todays date.
How many people were infected in the 1980s and no of survivors at todays date.
Your request was received on 3rd May and I am dealing with it under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

We are unable to confirm how many people were infected in each of the timeframes requested.
The current number of infected beneficiaries registered with the England Infected Blood Support Scheme (EIBSS), as of 01/05/23 is 2,746.

Definition:
SCM: The Special Category Mechanism process allows stage 1 beneficiaries to apply for the higher annual payments, equivalent to HIV and hepatitis C stage 2 annual payments.
