Your request was received on 5 April 2023 and I am dealing with it under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Our Case Management System (CMS) allows us to easily determine whether claims relate to vaccines received in the UK or outside the UK. This information is not broken down by UK country. Therefore, to retrieve the data requested specific to Scotland from cases recorded in the CMS, we would need to manually check each individual claim.  

We have completed a random sample check of 20 claims. This involved manually opening and logging the location of each individual claim. Checking 20 claims required 36 minutes of resource. Completing this for 5442 claims held would take more than 163 hours. (5442/20)x36/60).

Therefore, I estimate that the cost of complying with your request would exceed the non-central Government limit of £450. The limit has been specified in The Freedom of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulations 2004 and represents the estimated cost of one person spending 18 hours in determining whether the NHSBSA holds the information, and locating, retrieving and extracting the information. Under Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act, the NHSBSA is not obliged to comply with your request and I will not be processing your request further as it currently stands.
