Dataset Description
This dataset contains information on fees for providing COVID-19 vaccinations for which claims have been submitted to NHSBSA and processed for payment from English Community Pharmacies using the NHSBSA Manage Your Service (MYS) portal.
This dataset is intended for the general public, including individuals and organisations interested in public spending, healthcare service delivery, and the role of community pharmacies in supporting the NHS response to COVID-19.
By making this data publicly available, the publication promotes openness and transparency regarding NHS payments to pharmacy contractors. It aligns the reporting of COVID-19 vaccination fees with existing practices for the seasonal influenza vaccination service, for which payment information is already in the public domain. This supports informed public understanding of how NHS resources are used and highlights the valuable contribution of community pharmacies in delivering vital public health services.
Current COVID Vaccination Fee Dataset
The English Community Pharmacy COVID-19 vaccination fees - historic dataset is produced at the end of each reporting period, while the English community pharmacy COVID-19 vaccination service fees - current dataset is updated on a monthly basis.
Overview of Service
The NHS COVID-19 vaccinations are available through a Community Pharmacy Enhanced Service. These are described in periodic enhanced service specifications such as: Community Pharmacy Covid-19 Enhanced Service Specification
Dataset Details
Publication Frequency
Annually - data will be published each January, covering the previous September to August period.
For example, the January 2026 release would include vaccinations administered from September 2024 to the end of August 2025.
This delay in publishing the annual file is to allow for the submission of claims within the allotted grace period.
Data Source
Data is sourced from NHSBSA Data Warehouse following processing of claims made via NHSBSA Manage Your Service system.
Data Collection
Data about Covid-19 vaccination events originates from ‘point of care’ system terminals in sites operated by Community Pharmacies. This data is sent to NHSBSA’s Manage Your Service (MYS) system where it can form the basis of a monthly claim for fees for the service as set out in the applicable service specification. NHSBSA does not alter the data other than to determine which doses are eligible for a fee and the applicable fee rates.
Time Periods
Historic data will cover the period from December 2020 when the first vaccinations under the service were administered to patients until the latest completed year to August and will include data on activity broken down by month of activity and month of claim.
Current Data: Data for the current reporting period is available in English community pharmacy COVID-19 vaccination service fees - current
Geography
England.
Data is broken down to the level of each Community pharmacy. The NHS England Region and NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB) are included to enable aggregation to larger areas.

Information:
Scope of Data
This dataset only relates to fees for Community Pharmacies – it does not include vaccines supplied by other organisations such as GP practices, mass vaccination centres or by NHS Trusts. For complete information on vaccination activity the NHS England Statistics should be consulted:
NHS England Covid-19 Vaccination Statistics
This data is based on the monthly claims submitted by contractors as processed by NHSBSA, it does not include any post-payment adjustments that may have been made after the initial claims were processed.
Information:
Timings for claim submission
COVID-19 vaccination fee claims are subject to a 3 month grace period during which claims can be made. This means that the data for any dispensing month can change up to 2 months after the first claims for that month have been processed. The historic dataset will give a full monthly breakdown after all claims have been processed and the grace period has expired.
Information:
Pharmacy locations
Pharmacies may have administered vaccinations at several sites over different periods of time. Some pharmacy sites may be located in different Regions or Integrated Care Boards than the one to which their pharmacy account it linked. This data is presented according to the NHS administrative hierarchy and therefore may not represent the location of the activity.
