Request
You asked us:
‘I note that the NHS Pension Scheme Annual Report and Accounts 2023-24 provides aggregate information on pensions in payment, but does not include any breakdown of pension amounts by pensioner. Accordingly, I would like to request the following information.
1. The number of NHS Pension Scheme pensioners in payment whose annual pension is greater than:
a. £30,000
b. £50,000
c. £70,000
d. £100,000
To ensure the request remains within the FoI cost limit, please provide this information only if it already exists in the form of an internal statistical table, summary, or extract that can be released without manipulation of individual member records.
If the thresholds used above do not match an existing statistical table, I would be grateful if you could provide the closest available pension-band distribution for pensioners in payment.’ [Date range: 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024]
