I am doing a story on eye sight testing screening in schools Not all areas test in schools so it is reminding parents to get their eyes tested when their children are 4 or 5 so they can be checked for amblyopia.I have FOIed the NHSBSA to get a sense of the proportion of parents who are getting their 4 and 5 year olds tested. They have been really helpful but our data team have had a look at the data and there are too many duplicates for it to be give an accurate picture. (The exchange is below).
Im wondering are there any figures available for the number of reception children who are getting a test, and for those areas that don t offer school screening, I am wondering if you had anymore details about how this works if it is a individual area decision and what is done instead
