FLU_SEASON_START_MONTH Reporting period start yearmonth The earliest month of administration of vaccinations that is included in the season totals. This is taken to be September for consistency, but note that in some years seasonal vaccination activity begins later. This refers to the month when doses were dispensed to the patient. FLU_SEASON_END_MONTH Reporting period end yearmonth The last month of the 6 month period of the flu season. This is the March following SEASON_START_MONTH. Example: 2026-03
DISPENSED_MONTH Dispensed month yearmonth The year and month when the dose was administered to the patient. Example: 2025-10
REGION_CODE NHS England Region code - dispensing organisation string The NHS Organisation Data Service (ODS) code of the NHS England region to which the pharmacy is linked in the NHS organisation structure. Example: Y56
REGION_NAME NHS England Region name - dispensing organisation string The name of the NHS England Region to which the pharmacy is linked in the NHS organisation structure.
ICB_CODE Integrated Care Board (ICB) code - dispensing organisation string The NHS Organisation Data Service (ODS) code of the NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB) to which the pharmacy is linked in the NHS organisation structure. Example: QKK
ICB_NAME Integrated Care Board (ICB) name - dispensing organisation string The name of the NHS Integrated Care Board (ICB) to which the pharmacy is linked in the NHS organisation structure. ICBs are a sub-division of NHS England that is smaller than NHS Region. Note that pharmacies may deliver services to patients who live in outside of the geographical boundary of the ICB area for example distance selling pharmacies may set up sites across the country to provide vaccination services.
DISPENSER_CODE Claimant organisation data service (ODS) code string The NHS Organisation Data Service (ODS) code of the organisation that was responsible for claiming fees and reimbursement for administering the vaccinations. In this dataset the dispensers are English community pharmacies. Example: FXK55
DISPENSER_NAME Claimant organisation string The name of the organisation that was responsible for claiming fees and reimbursement for administering the vaccinations.
DISPENSER_TRADING_NAME Claimant organisation trading name string The public facing name of the organisation that was responsible for claiming fees and reimbursement for administering the vaccinations.
MANUFACTURER Vaccine supplier name string The name of the manufacturer / supplier of the vaccine product (pack) that was supplied and claimed for. Text may not correspond exactly to the NHS Dictionary of Medicines and Devices (dm+d).
VACCINE_NAME Vaccine pack name string The text name of the vaccine product (pack) that was supplied and claimed for. Note for older data more general 'presentation' information may be included that does not specify the pack size. Text may not correspond exactly to the NHS Dictionary of Medicines and Devices (dm+d).
AMPP_SNOMED_CODE Vaccine pack SNOMED code string The SNOMED CT code corresponding to the Actual Medicinal Product Pack (AMPP) from which the dose was supplied to the patient. Note as this is often a long sequence of digits so care must be taken to avoid curtailing the numbers in some computer programmes - such as MS Excel. Importing SNOMED codes as text or string or character data can reduce the risk of data loss. Note this column is blank for data before the 2023-2024 flu season.
BNF_PRESENTATION_CODE Vaccine pharmaceutical presentation BNF code string The British National Formulary (BNF) code corresponding to the Actual Medicinal Product (AMP) that was supplied to the patient. Note for some products (appliances) this can be a long sequence of digits so care must be taken to avoid curtailing the numbers in some computer programmes - such as MS Excel. Importing BNF codes as 'text' or 'string' or 'character' data can reduce the risk of data loss.
MONTHLY_NUMBER_OF_DOSES Monthly number of doses integer The number of doses processed and scheduled for payment that were dispensed to patients in the DISPENSED_MONTH.
MONTHLY_DRUG_COST_GBP Monthly drug reimbursement cost string The total value in GBP of the reimbursement applicable to the MONTHLY_NUMBER_OF_DOSES at the drug tariff price. Refer to, for example, Drug Tariff Part VIC 'Community Pharmacy Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Service' for information about reimbursement. Does not include Pharmacy VAT allowance.
MONTHLY_FEES_GBP Monthly fees cost number The total value in GBP of the fees applicable to the MONTHLY_NUMBER_OF_DOSES. Refer to, for example, Drug Tariff Part VIC 'Community Pharmacy Seasonal Influenza Vaccination Service' for information about fees.
