Request
I live in Norfolk. We have only one GP in the town. I have been advised my insulin for my type 1 diabetes will be changed to a cheaper one to save costs. I would like to know how many type 1 diabetics are covered by this practice so I can see how much will be saved. Vida healthcare medical practice. Valentine Rd. Hunstanton.

Advice and assistance
We don't hold data on the medical indication (or reason) for any prescription, so we do not specifically hold any information about Type 1 diabetes prescriptions or patients.
General cost and volume information by practice and prescription product can be found on the NHSBSA Open Data Portal in the "English Prescribing Dataset (EPD)". See the weblink below:
https://opendata.nhsbsa.net/dataset/english-prescribing-dataset-epd-with-snomed-code
This dataset can be filtered to the relevant practice (PRACTICE_NAME) and by chemical substance and will show information about the quantity, number of items and, net ingredient cost (NIC) and actual cost. The Dataset details and data dictionary and notes give further advice on accessing and interpreting this data.
Please note however that this data is not limited by the medical indication that gave rise to the prescription.
